ABOUT THE PROJECT

In 2010, the Government of Gujarat, Roads & Buildings Department (R&BD) has proposed Second Gujarat State Highway Project (GSHP-II) for upgradation of existing selected State Highways up to 4 Lane, 2 Lane + PS, 2 Lane + PS + HS and some existing selected State Highways to rehabilitate with the aid of World Bank fund. The GSHP II started in 2014 with project period of five years. List of these roads can be seen here. The project size was 323 million US$. There are two other components included in the project. They are Sector Policy & Institutional Development and Road Safety. About, 12 million US$ and 22 million US$ are allocated for these two components respectively. For utilization of savings, the World bank and GoG agreed to extend the project period upto December 2020. Therefore, the total Project Size is now 387 million US$ and total project length is 775 km. Till now the World Bank Mission has visited the state several times as a part of preparation and implementation of GSHP-II. The details of these missions are provided here

PROJECT STATUS

GSHP-II is in implementation stage. Various work contracts and consultancies are on-board and some are in procurement stage. Details of these can be seen in Public Disclosure.

LATEST EVENTS

World Bank's Seventh Implementation Support Mission was on visit to GSHP-II from 24th July 2017 to 28th July 2017.
